Children’s Message

Opening Prayer

Lord Jesus, you did not ask us to obey you as a king, but to follow you as our Teacher, as our Savior and as our Lord. You did not ask us to sit idly by as the word turns, but rather to act as you have acted. You said to your Disciples, “You call me Teacher and Lord and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set an example that you should do as I have done for you”. Lord God, give us the courage and the willingness to wash the feet not only of each other, but of our neighbors and even of the feet of people we do not know. You showed us how to live and act in this world. May we “Just Do It.”. In Jesus’s Name, Amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

God, thank you for being with us today and always. Through the life of your Son, Jesus, you have shown us the path upon which we must walk so that peace will reign over all the Earth. So that we will love our neighbors. So that we will hold out our open hands in love and caring to those who are less fortunate than we. Let us be a reflection of your Son, to follow his teachings and be godly examples to our children and our grandchildren. And may they hold the light of Jesus in their hearts forever more so our world will become a place of love and compassion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
