Welcome

Sharing the Peace of Christ

Gloria Patri   (UMH 71)

Call to Worship

Leader:  Let us not become cynical from abandoning our dreams or fail to encourage others to follow theirs. Let us come before the God of forgiveness who is the restorer of dreams. Let us “ponder anew what the Almighty can do!”

People: For this is a new day, a new hour, a new beginning – and God is doing a NEW THING.

Leader:  Let us thank God for His Son, whose life, death, and resurrection was all about restoration and birthing vision, inspiring passions, and sparking dreams … igniting ministry. We rejoice!

People: For this is a new day, a new hour, a new beginning – and God is doing a NEW THING.

Leader:  Come! Let us come into God’s presence with singing for in God’s presence is fullness of joy and at his right hand are pleasures forevermore! Let us shout joyfully as God’s  children!

All:  For this is a new day, a new hour, a new beginning – and God is doing a NEW THING. We worship you, God of vision, possibilities, opportunities, dreams, and new beginnings. Amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving

We have entered your gates with thanksgiving and come into your courts with praise. Yet we continue to thank you for who we are becoming by the Word, Holy Spirit, and grace. We thank you for all you have given us – the will and strength to act, for vision, and for embracing the possibilities, opportunities, dreams and new beginnings brought into our lives. We thank you for bringing us together as this expression of your people, and we ask that you continue the work in us that we might make your heart glad with all that is done with our time, talents, and treasure. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name. Amen.
