Confession
Pastor: God is the one in whom we are called to take refuge, who eternally forgives and renews. Therefore, let us name how we have turned away from the source of truth so that in our humility, we may be truly exalted.
People: Lord, only you are holy. Yet we imagine that we are righteous, we are drawn to false teachings. We like to be noticed by the world, we crave to be honored. We ignore your calling to humility, kindness, and service towards others. Forgive us. Help us to practice the teachings of Jesus. Set us on your path, O God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Litany of Remembrance
Liturgist: We gather today to remember those who have walked among us, whose hands have shaped our community, and whose voices have lifted our prayers. We give thanks for the saints of God.
People: We praise you, O God for the cloud of witnesses surrounding us.
Pastor: For those who have finished their earthly course and now rest from their labors – especially those from this community of faith who have joined the heavenly chorus in this past year.
Reading of the Names
Lighting of the Candle and Chime of the Bell
Liturgist: For the bright light they shed upon our paths, for the love they left behind, and for the quiet ways they showed us the face of Christ.
People: Lord, we thank you for their life and legacy.
Pastor: For the saints unknown to the wider world but deeply known to us – our parents, grandparents, spouses, children, mentors, and dear friends who taught us how to love, how to hope, and how to believe.
Light a candle for your loved one
Liturgist: For their faith in times of trial, their joy in times of celebration, and their enduring presence in our hearts.
People: Lord, we thank you for the gift of memory.
Liturgist: We also remember the saints yet to come. Keep us faithful in our own generation, that we may pass on the light of your love to those who follow.
People: Unite us, O God, across all time and space, as one body, one spirit, and one church.
Pastor: Eternal God, help us to live as children of the light. Strengthen us to run with perseverance the race set before us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.
People: To you, with the whole company of heaven, be all honor, glory, and praise, now and forever. Amen.
